Historical Castlemaine Cemetery Trust

The Historical Castlemaine Cemetery is a Class B Cemetery managed by volunteer trust members who have been appointed by the Department of Health and Human Services, State Government of Victoria.

Trust members are responsible for

  • Ensuring the cemetery is operating in compliance with the relevant State Government legislation.

  • Maintaining accurate records

  • Financial accountability

  • Ground maintenance

  • Liaising with funeral directors/families to arrange burials

  • Liaising with stone masons

  • Meeting with members of the public to discuss purchasing a right of interment.

  • Assisting the public with family history/research enquiries

The Trust holds regular meetings at our heritage listed office at the cemetery.
